signs of life and mud and puddles where they don't belong and dog poop that owners "forgot" to pick up and trash that was needlessly tossed inappropriately. that is how winter ends and summer begins. some trash will be picked up some just buried under the rapid growth. poop will work it's way into the water system. life post winter begins. doesn't that all just sound depressing. thought the bench looked kinda cool. a much more sedate day for me and the dogs. i had a dentist appointment and a eye exam. took blossom along and in between we walked in cuddy park. it's by the library. pretty popular midday lunch break walk it seems. popular duck/goose/seagull park as well. so i took the camera with me. debated getting over to coastal trail and looking for those geese. maybe i'll take both girls there tomorrow for a leash walk and see what else turns up. so much didn't happen today. we all need a lazy day at times, i just need more than the average person i think. blossom is so dang cute! rio was quite happy i think to stay home. she did make her way upstairs last night eventually. didn't want to miss her treats. insurance covers some of the cost. i am not a continuous eyeware wearer. my eyes are actually still pretty close to 20/20. i can tell they have decreased over these past years. apparently, i had superman like vision for most of my life and now i'm just begining to see what normal people see. mostly i notice the changes at night when i'm driving or when the moniters are work appear slightly blurry. so last year i got a pair of glasses and i think i'll keep those in the work bag and these i'll try and keep in the car for night driving. of course, i won't be really needing any night time driving glasses til next fall at this point. sun is staying out later and later. figure if i get frames every year or two i'll be in good shape when i actually need glasses. i can always put new lenses in the old frames. hopefully, i won't have to go around with tape holding my glasses together like my brother joel always did when we were growing up. glasses are expensive...i really had no idea. i'm sure kids bust them alot and i can imagine that such a simple thing as eyewear for a kid could bust a budget pretty fast.magpie above and a canadian goose below.
i'm grateful for my good vision. i have about the weakest reading glasses available as i do notice that change. teeth are still hanging in there. just a cleaning. may think about cosmetic bleaching of the teeth in the fall. don't want too white of teeth but wouldn't hurt to get a little luster back in them. some of these people really go overboard on the whitning. i was at the dog park one day and this guy was walking towards me and all i could see were the teeth. a bit much. apparently, it's very dehydrating. my dentist makes trays and then once a year for a week or two you use the bleach. probably would look stupid too to be all wrinkly with these crazy white teeth. overall, i'm a fan of aging gracefully. acceptance of the process. no point being a stickler though. not afraid to colour the hair or the teeth if it suits me i guess. never got my swim in...i know i suck. met with friends at ling and louie's for dinner. we had a fun time. i went in, asked if anyone else was there and then got a table for 5, gail showed up soon, then sharon and i were texting and assuming the other was on the way. 20 minutes later we figured out she and linda were at another table the whole time waiting for us. sandra showed up late, but really on time since we took awhile to get together. it's good food and a nice central meeting place. snapped this as i was about to turn onto patterson. this open area is close to my house and there are frequently moose chilling out there. back to more bird activity at cuddy.
been on a bookworm kick. the games on my phone are great for waiting at places. kills the batteries to fast. dang batteries. you'd think with all the technology someone could figure out a way to make them last longer. so annoying. i think this computer is filling up on memory with all the pictures i have loaded. i need to make sure i've got cd's for all as back up. i try and load them onto shutterfly, but i'm always behind. should spend some time working on that before i take summer pictures. never thought this baggy jean thing would last this long. have pondered lately what medical issues these boys may develope in thier later years from the way they have to walk in those pants. will they have hip/joint issues? although it does occur to me that it could be a big savings for parents. i mean you could buy a 5 year old jeans in a huge size and they could wear them several years. each generation has thier riduculous fashions. what would thier kids do to get back at them if this wasn't true. it's just the way life is. would be fun to work in fashion and come up with crazy crap just to see what you could convince people to wear in the name of style. i of course, was never one to follow the current fashion trends. haha. i did try to layer my hair to look like farah fawcetts once. it didn't really work the way i invisioned it. my mother took me in to get it fixed...how kind of her. back to work tomorrow night. what will it bring. you just never know. each day is a new adventure there. not sure i could handle doing the same thing over and over. nothing is ideal, but there are some perks to what i do. somedays it's harder to find them than other days. the best perk is the time off!! believe i will just turn in a bit earlier than my usual 2am bedtime. have skipped my post morning dog meal nap these past few days. the dogs require an 8 am feed no matter if i'm working or off so i am always awake at that time. generally i feed the girls and then go back to bed for another hour or so. i like a good 8 hour sleep on my days off. when i'm working i generally make due with about 5 hours/day. am looking forward to not waking for monday walk after my stretch this weekend. i may sleep all day monday, just cause i can!! nighty-night!!
