headed to University Lake in a minute. feeling depressed today over the Kavenaugh supreme court selection. it will go through while i am out at the park. there are protesters making their voices heard, even if nobody listens to them. i keep hearing members of the right mock the protesters...funny since many on the right have their right to vote because of protesters. many are alive today because of protesters. many have benefited from those who have stood up to power.
this process has just been infuriating. the right dug in and pushed their nominee through. they just went through whatever motions they had to. it's a joke. there was no fairness in all of this, there was no truth, no honesty. as i see a conspiracy theorists in the white house and now one on the highest court i am filled with dread for the state of our nation. facts no longer matter to any of them it seems. truth is a chip to be bartered with. morals are a thing of the past. ethics...gone forever it seems.
conversation with co-workers the other day...i was clearly the only one with liberal tendencies....they are all fox news fans. fox isn't listed with FCC as news it's listed as entertainment from what i have understood. they believe all spoon fed them from there though. have a nasty girl mocking me on facebook at this moment. you are simply not allowed to see the world differently for so many of these folks. they want only their way to move forward. i suspect this will not end well for any of us, but i think the ones who push their will on the masses will ultimately pay the price.
so we will have a man who is extreme in his views. who, quite possibly, has a history of drinking too much and forgetting that he pushed females into acts they did not wish to participate in...the many members of the GOP are cool with a supreme court pic that has a history of groping, they are cool with a Potus with a history of groping. it's in the past, the women should just get over it...these are things i hear from the right. from my co-workers. really, women are to just accept being raped and get over it. i guess you only have a small window to speak up...then your pain is null and void, not worthy of being heard. it's also null and void because most of these molestations do not leave a mark, nor any DNA.
the FBI probe was so limited in it's scope so as to make sure the truth never came out. the current GOP has zero interest in truth or morals or ethics..all they care is that they get their way. they could care less if their way is damaging to many of their fellow citizens. it's all about money and power.
guess i feel today that if you are a groper you should direct your groping to members of the GOP, they have your full support. the women have spoken, and they have said, grope away as they will get over it and move on and they intend to fully accept these acts as boys will be boys and totally acceptable.
understand the rest of us are off limits. we are done with this crap. we are sending the message that we believe males are capable of controlling their urges. we know many who have done so and have become very successful in life without having a drinking and groping period.
we believe that it's time for us to defend women and send the message that it is not all on us to prevent males from expressing their urges. boys and men are responsible for their actions, drunk or sober. you do not get a pass on being bad because you were drunk or high. you are responsible for your actions.
the house is coming along slowly. it is in a depressing state at this time as well. not helping my overall mood i fear. pipes showing up where i don't want them to show up. i need to really get this torn up so i can dream of getting it back together.
empowering the Demo God in me.
lots of moose on the streets this week. there was a mom and calves feeding in the center of the roundabout as i headed home from work. the other morning i had a few sightings from my bedroom window.
i fear for our nation. two steps forward, two steps back...we are deep in the steps backward. the old cronies of DC must be removed from power. the GOP is full of arrogance. they are using their power to assert their religious values on all. they are using their power to assert their control of women.
these shenanigans by the GOP to get their stooge into the court will negatively impact our nation for years to come. they hung their faith on the wrong guy i suspect, but they are so arrogant and stubborn that they refused to see.
pumpkin massacre tonight at a friends. thanks MT for allowing the party to go on. hopefully, my place is all ready by next year for the massacre.
just feeling the need to vent my rage at this moment. it is not helped by the arrogance and condescending attitudes of many on the right this day. they think that by sowing this division they are winning, but in the big picture they are just as much of a pawn as we all are. in the end, those at the top do not actually have their interests at heart either..but instead pander to the few ideals that they know they can manipulate these folks with. they may have power now and feel all giddy that they can stick it to the liberals that they hate so much...they hate liberals more than white supremacists, nazi sympathizers and misogynists but pick a side i guess....one day they may find their hatred has infested them to the point that they have just become awful humans. those pearly gates will slam shut in their faces.
this one woman on a friends page is just nasty and taking such pleasure in being purposefully cruel...simply because she hates liberals, any and all. nobody is allowed to think differently than her or else they are idiots. sounds familiar to me. I've been deemed an idiot by some members of my family, simply because i have a different viewpoint and dare speak out. perhaps it's just threatening to their world to imagine that the view they have been looking at could change and evolve.
change can be an impossible thing to adapt to for some. mostly i just feel sad that the ideals our nation were built on are quite possibly being damaged and possibly destroyed. there is no guarantee that this nation will not falter and/or fall. we are not any better than anyone else. we have been made to believe over the last 50 or so years that some how we are somehow Gods choice nation. it's not true, God would not be in the business of selecting a favored nation. we are not judged by the nation we live in. we are not better than any other nation. we have our foibles, we will have times of struggle. we are a nation of many opinions and that is not an easy thing to abide by.
many resent hearing those other voices. they want only their opinion to matter in the big picture and for generations, that is pretty much how it was. that is changing. the face of America is changing.
we can't all be right, nor can we all be wrong. people could try being respectful, but the new Republican is this release to say anything and everything that comes to them. they are so angered at having been held back due to political correctness. what is it to be politically correct anyway...to try not to offend, to be kinder, to be less cruel. oh that is terrible. Jesus wouldn't want that...so instead i have met a great many from the radical religious right who are turning into horrible and cruel people...mean spirited and nasty. spiteful and arrogant. it's pretty sad to see that all rolled in with some belief that they can do it because they are on the right side of God. i guess they figured they are at war with us liberals and God will praise them for being horrible humans towards us...since we are the enemy.
i should use this frustration and take it out on the demo. time to knock this place down.
moose is pretty large standing by the car
fun to just watch her eat off the tree. she cleans each twig of all the leaves in one fell swoop.
Amy...friend of Johns, whoever you are...you are an ass. good luck with that.
these sweet faces bring me peace.
will huff some playdoh, do some demo and then head off to pumpkin massacre.
maybe I'll write a normal post later...for right now. i needed to clear the rage from my brain.
