gotta pack  up in the morning for an overnight trek to Manitoba Yurt with friends and dogs. gonna be a chilly night.  i have a new bag.  was hell getting it packed into the bag.  hopefully that means it's got a lot of down in it.  my old one just seemed like it had lost a lot of the fluff. we shall see. there is a wood burning stove and wood out there...at least i hope so. 

temps have dropped again. 

still have some packing to do.  try to toss in a few last Christmas presents that have yet to be delivered. hopefully have a great little get a way.  the roads are better than last year i hope.  fingers crossed. 

have caught a few nice sunsets these last few days.  winter sunsets are just amazing here. 

hit the beach yesterday. always love those big ice bergs. 

these last two nights of work were in the ER doing holds.  i was actually slated for a 1:1 in mental health night two but i ended up switching for the holds.  i knew the girl who was going wasn't big on holds and i wasn't really in the mood for the 1:1. 

got the ski's sold.  money into the secret stash.  build that back up. 

the boob injury has improved this week.  just little twinges of pain from time to time.  mostly more normal.  

the pups got to play in all that deep snow while i dug out. 

entertained by the GOP chaos in the house.  what a mess they are.  they have no plans to help any of the citizens, only want screen time, drama, to go after their perceived enemies and spread hate. control others lives since apparently their lives are small and miserable.  why else would you be so focused on the hatred. 

it took them 15 votes to finally elect this idiot as their house majority leader. they say the extremes were up against the moderates but there are no moderates in this party at this point that i can see. there are extremes and crazy extremes. though many of the regular extremes seem just as crazy a the crazy extremes.  so maybe crazy extremes and total whack a doodles. 

was actually happy that the fool didn't get voted in on Jan 6.  seemed like they should not get a win on that day.  they still are acting like what insurrection? nothing to see at all.  we all love the country. even the people that were there still mostly see themselves as patriots. some will even deny that any violence happened at all that day.  they were flipping out that Zelenskyy brought a Ukrainian flag..all over twitter saying it was disrespectful to have any flag other than the US flag there...seeming to forget all the trump and confederate flags that were used to attempt to take out actual officers...right the law and order party! never mind that actual shit was smeared on desks in  offices...right, the gop are experts on class and respect. it's such absolute rubbish and idiocy 

those who still live in these conspiracy fantasy's are really unreachable at this point imho.  it's sad and it saddens me because i know people who will still not admit Biden won or that the insurrection happened and would still rather act like those people were really antifa and blm dressed up as trump supporters.  they just can't imagine anyone who thinks like they do and looks like they do being capable of this i guess.

still have some hope that more higher up will actually be held to account for the events of that day.  they are often willing to go on programs, like one i watched tonight. they'll write about the bull of trump in their books to sell, but they all seem incapable of going under oath and actually condemning this man where it counts. weak, spineless jerks. 

these two are a joy. lots of snuggle time. wanted to get a trimming done on Sunny but as it's chilly and we go camping tomorrow i decided to wait til we get back from camping. he may be nice and sleepy and up for a trim on Monday night.

the minority leader, Jeffries, gave a great speech i felt.  he didn't hold back and shined the light on the idiocy that is the gop. 

trump even got one vote.  a fight almost broke out and i thought jordan, a jerk in his own right, looked pale and sickly...one can hope.

icy roads and a trailhead to close to the road...those will be the anxiety inducing concerns for this adventure. i'll have to leash them up until we get well on the trail. it's not a long walk.

placed an order for the Body Shop.  love their body butter.  i get a bigger order every winter it seems.  can't wear those scents in the summer much.  bears. in the winter though.  i can enjoy the scents. 

still more to pack up in the morning.  play with dogs, feed dogs. don't think i'll get a walk in before we head out to meet friends. hopefully, i'll get motivated to get out of bed.  the cats will just chill for the night.  probably will enjoy being without the dogs for a night. 

the yard is getting pretty packed down now. have to pt the trash out and mail a few things. writing down a little to do list.  i have the bag, pj's and a toothbrush. i guess the rest i'll manage if i forget something else here or there.

Ivy braved the deep snow first.  i'd tossed a last pumpkin into the snow banks out front after i cracked it open. a moose visitor came by while i was at work.  

thankful for A. improved health.  B. that the football player sounds to be improving after his cardiac arrest according to reports. one hit and into vfib arrest.  always sad.  hoping he makes a full recovery.  C. first trek of the year.  getting out early.
