nearly 2 am...

some one did some decorating at the dog park so i had to stop and snap a few photo's
shadows get super long this time of year. we are nearing solstice.
the front is decked out with Skelly. no tree yet.  have been working on other stuff for Christmas.  i think i have 10 packages ready to ship.  maybe i can spend some time tomorrow on two last gifts to mail off.  would be good to get to post office and get the bulk of them shipped off. the cards are out and i have been painting some gifts for local friends.
we had a beautiful day at the dog park the other day.  today was cloudy.  a few flakes came down. there keeps being some talk of snow, but so far not that much has come down yet.
picked up the dog poop in the yard just in case...always feel i need to stay on top of that so i don't end up with poop soup in the spring.
work kept me steady but not out of control.  the usual madness.  a friend was a sitter in the ER.  it was a rough gig with that particular patient.  i served as a wall once.  patient kept bouncing off me, heading another way only to find she was bouncing off me again...eventually she bounced back towards her room. fun co-workers all week.  that really makes for good shifts.
was in the ER 2 of the 3 nights.  once with hold patients and then last night as a regular ER staff.  in between i did a night in the adult ICU.  good crew there too.
was playing with the pups tonight with a fun puppy toy.  always gets their attention these toys that sing and move around.  haha.
lots of crazy and unrelated deals made  to get the new tax law passed.  for all the GOP bitched about how the Obamacare bill was handled, this one was even worse.  DC is a mess i think we all agree with that.  i wish we could get things like opening ANWR out of a tax bill.  the mandate shouldn't be in there either.  seems odd that the GOP would have to work so hard to get what they want done considering they have all the power right now.
the senate was only given 1-2 hours to read the over 500 pages, complete with hand written changes.  those who did get a look at the thing tell that it will lead to over 1.4 trillion in deficit.  well played GOP...way to pay back all those donors.  this is a bill to support the most wealthy and not, as they like to say, to help the middle class or those who are poor.
i have little confidence that i will be cared for by this nation when i get older.  as a singleton i will be on the most screwed list. i am already...they will now only screw me more.  fools.  they do not work for the people but instead work for the wealthy and special interest groups.
Flynn is possibly cooperating.  will be interesting to see what happens there.  that man got himself in too deep with all the Turkey/Russia stuff i suspect. i still think he may end up killing himself before this is all over.
woke today to one pup on either side of me fast asleep.  so sweet, these pups
this day we had a fog roll through town.  it had cleared quite a bit by the time i hit basher trail to watch the sunset.
the pups enjoyed chasing the tennis ball down both sides of the trail.
it's all on the GOP now.  any screw up, deaths, deficit is all on them.  wars, on the GOP.  I'm sure they will continue their games of blame but the truth is it's on them.  this tax bill is crap.  doubt they will do any soul searching as it heads back to the house and then again the Senate...it will pass. the rich will get richer and folks like me will find ourselves with greater tax debt.  our nation will fall deeper in debt and the GOP will take away more of what i have worked for to pay for it...now way they will dare take tax breaks from their donors.  shame on them really...greed destroys, hate destroys...but eventually right does win.
did wake early enough today to get to this craft fair that i usually enjoy.  i was sleepy but did find a few things i liked.  ended up coming home later and taking a little nap this evening...which is no doubt why i am awake right now
low tide looks to be at 1:30 tomorrow.  may have to hit the beach.
need to get tennis balls ready for tree decorating on the Monday walk.
 sun above, fog below.

Tusker on the trail.  haven't taken this trail too far.  really should explore it this winter
it's usually just my go to place for a quick sunset.

the bare trees always look pretty against the light

there was a guy out front of the craft fair getting signatures for various things. i signed and thanked him.  action is the only way to get change, bitching isn't enough.
thankful for all who are doing their part to fight for better ways and a better government.  ours is a mess, it has become glaringly obvious.  so much of what we believed was protected was more just suggestion.
the rest of the world is watching us.  wondering how it will all be handled.
hopefully, our nations creators put in enough safety measures to keep us strong in the end.
the patch of white below is the ponds out on the North Bivouac trails.  i spent a lot of time out there in the winters.
we will be hanging our tennis balls out there on Monday.
well, i had better crash for the night so i can get some stuff done tomorrow.
thankful for:  A.  lawyers and media and those who make calls, write letters, protest... make your voices heard and hope for the change to come.  it won't happen by just posting how pissed off you are on facebook and twitter.  we are all responsible.  B.  the ability to capture just a bit of the beauty of this earth and share it.  C.  the health to be able to get out and walk these pups and enjoy the beauty of this earth.
