Happy Impeachment Day

 a heart in the ice...

 it does seem pretty likely that trump will have the scarlet letter of impeachment on him forevermore. the GOP members are railing and pounding their fists today but the vote will happen and it will probably go to impeachment.  many on the right believe that this goes away when the senate doesn't vote to remove him but they seem to have forgotten that Clinton was impeached but not removed. 

 of course, even my most conservative of relatives seem to get that perhaps having sex and lying about it wasn't really the high crimes and misdemeanor worthy of impeachment. 

 they scream about the process and him not getting a fair run but he has obstructed the process.  if his folks close to him could clear his name they would have been allowed to testify but they were instructed to not participate and to not obey the subpoenas sent. my guess is that obstruction of justice is the best they could hope for and that if these witnesses testified under oath that the crimes and misdemeanor list would grow by leaps and bounds.

 the anonymous book is out there and doing well.  that is supposedly someone on the inside who remains on the inside. that person has apparently said they will make themselves known before the next election.  my guess is that if they wait long enough they will ensure that a second term would  go to Pence as a first term and perhaps buy them two more terms.  they are still conservatives. Pence would not be able to win on his own at this moment in history, but if he had a mob of angry trumpers on his side, he may be able to pull it off.

 Bolton is also ready to talk in a book even if not in the impeachment.  trump is surrounded by a group who are out for themselves ultimately..those are never people you can trust entirely.  he remains only as long as he is useful to them.  they will scream and rail for him until the dam bursts...it may burst with his financials. who knows.  if they find a way to pull him at the last minute leaving a path for Pence, they will do so in a way that makes the Dems responsible no doubt.

 Conway, the husband, has gotten with a group to start a pac of conservatives who hope to prevent his re-election. the left like to think Conway is on their side, but he is still a conservative at heart.  he and his wife may differ on trump...or do they.  she has remained on the inside this whole time. that is a lot of information she has been able to gather just by keeping him close.  is she anonymous? many have wondered.

 i have not bought the anonymous book.  i see it as weak and self serving.  if anonymous really cares about the nation they should stand up and stop this disaster. 

 thus we stand at the edge of history.  the left will continue to investigate because none of this is closed, it's ongoing.

 i will be happy that there is at least a record of the mess that has been allowed to happen by the right.  i am happy there is a record forever of the rights madness in this moment.  those ridiculous fist pounding speeches will be there for the future to behold.  they are digging their own graves as it were....they know the truth and yet they have chosen to look the other way in an attempt to maintain their power.

 their own words from Clintons impeachment already have come back to haunt them as they pound their fists on this one over the exact things they insisted on doing to the left in those days. they justify all they do while condemning all the left does..

 there have even been those who have compared the treatment of trump to the treatment of Jesus.  the evangelicals have lost their minds...i fear we will have bloodshed before we can calm the radical right again.  they are out for blood, many of them.  as a co-worker said, they are armed and ready for civil war.  they are armed not only with weapons but also with the lies and propaganda that have been poured into them for decades.  they have bought into all the conspiracy theories and been filled with fear and rage. 

 because fear and rage go hand in hand. if you can create an atmosphere of fear you can cause rage and therefore you can push fear to action.  that is how it always works...look at history. 

 genocides happen when fear turns to rage which turns to action.  one side convinces those who are filled with fear and rage that action is justified. 

 that is when they take to the streets with whatever weapons they can find to kill and maim.  look at history.  it's not that crazy. 

 comparing this fool to Jesus and God or saying he's been sent by God somehow is a perfect set up for turning that fear and rage to action.  they would be justified in their minds.  they will be fighting for God directly. 

 i shall head out soon to walk my beasts. 

 these are back out at North Bivouac.  i did a variety of loops out there yesterday.  may be Campbell Airstrip today. 

 a great Christmas gift would be for friends to actually ask me to walk with them...it does seem to be very one sided.  even if people walk it's generally me doing the asking.  it would be great if on occasion people made the call/text first.  i know two furry companions who always love my company and don't mind walking for hours even if it's cold or damp. 

 there is no loyalty like that of a dog. 

 and i got two of them.  the pond is frozen. 

 we are finally hitting a real cold spell.

 i do still have pictures from the beach with the big camera.  just haven't looked at them yet.

 I'm sure many are not happy that this day has come....that this potus will be impeached.  i just don't think his actions should stand without any sort of record that how he has behaved is not acceptable.  what sort of precedent will it set for future administrations. 

 my hope is that somehow this being as bad as it is really does help our nation drain the swamp as they like to say.  the swamp is more swampy on the right...that is the recent history.  Nixon and trump vs clinton and his oval office escapades.  it's a bit swampy on both sides though and the potus's have been given more and more power and that needs to be rectified for the good of the nation. 

 we need to take things that have been presumed as the way to behave and actually make them required behavior.  we can no longer trust people to respect the office and the constitution, we must make it imperative that they do.

 i best get off the computer and head out walking.

 the dogs have been very patient.

 i did make it to the YMCA for 25 laps (50 lengths) last night.  very relaxing.  love a good swim.
