ranting like Luke Danes....

attempted to hit a movie tonight. when i got to the counter they asked me to select my seat.  well my friend was on the way or somewhere there.  trying to call her to see if i should buy two seats...but then there weren't any left together....when did we start having assigned seating for movies?  so annoying.  no more shifting over or changing seats if there is some tall or annoying person that sits in front of you.
went with another friend walking down to the beach.  the dogs were all thrilled to hit the beach.  it was George's first time there.  i think he fancied it as well.  i mean who wouldn't?
anyway, no seats left together and when we checked into attempting to catch a different movie at a different time the only seats left together were in the very first row.  in the end, she went in and bought us tickets for tomorrows show and i left agitated after my rant...thank you SH for listening to me rant.
then to boot the second teenage cashier person put me in as senior.  so not only am i a ranter, I'm an old hag!
i am sure i will adapt but it's still annoying...the world changes and eventually you get tired of adapting and you take the ticket to heaven.
had a nice dinner with both friends between the walk and the failed movie attempt. the waitress was hilarious. when you think you are crazy and random strangers side with you...it makes you feel better that perhaps you aren't all that crazy after all.
portrait attempts at my favorite tree.  :-)  i told her she should return at intervals and take pictures of him growing up. the first time i took mine to this tree they were so tired from their time playing on the beach, they fell asleep.
it started snowing while we were on the beach.  no sunsets today.
this one turned out super cute.
no shopping this weekend.  i did do some online stuff. too much crap in the house as it is.
pups all did great together again.  i had one guy make comments about mine being off leash for the walk down.  there weren't many folks out and mine were great at moving off trail and staying or doing the hold up and staying.  i consider it training.  he was able to walk past without them moving.  at first he said it was good i had the leashes, then after he passed he was calling back that i was supposed to use them.  the law does allow for off leash training however.  i think it was put in there for folks training hunting dogs but i think it would be tough to allow that and not allow what i do with mine. they got only compliments the rest of the walk.
folks are generally pretty impressed at how they are totally focused on the tennis ball and therefore obey.
news came in this evening of a medivac plane that has crashed.  always very sad.  i know many nurses who do this job, have worked with them in ICU/ER's.  your heart breaks every time one of these accidents happens...then you wait and worry about everyone you know who flies. not many details known at this point.  they apparently left Anchorage headed to pick up a patient in Seward.  they did not make it to Seward however.
I'm sure there will be more news over the next few days.  my heart goes out to those lost and to their families and friends who are no doubt tonight suffering and waiting news.
we had our year anniversary for the 7.1 quake.  the shaking has decreased a great deal over the past few months. it was a pretty shaky few months after that one.
posing with corpses of the enemy seems pretty unseemly to me, but then perhaps to some it's equal to posing with the dead elephant or zebra they killed.  they are all pretty disgusting to me.  it is odd that the iitoo would protect these types of acts yet would trash those who have served honorably.  who do not have the tarnished reputations brought on by pranks that are in very poor taste.  he trashed McCain, railed against Gold Star families, trashed the service of Mueller and witnesses who had stellar records..
trump destroys everything he touches.  he apparently did sign an law that is stricter on animal abuse.  i am good with that but it also flies in the face of the many other things he has done.  destruction of the 100 year bird migration act, chopping away at the endangered species act, allowing the transport of ivory and doing all he can to take out national parks, lands and estuaries.
he's bound to get one or two things right.  one can hope anyway.
another one they have gotten right it seems of late is to create a task force to look into slain natives.  of course, a task force sometimes looks good but doesn't do much...we shall see. with this administration one always must question the motives behind anything they do. probably hoping to drum up votes...in this case if it helps the situation so be it.
the previous administration always prepares for months for the transition period.  this administration refused to even attempt to learn what was happening in government and instead decided to wing it i guess.  it just shows an arrogance and ignorance.  many of the things happening in government are long range and having an administration who has no desire to learn the basics can put many long range plans at risk...therefore putting us all at risk.  take a thing like nuclear development.
this administration could be causing damage that will last decades because of that ignorance and arrogance.
the money being wasted on this silly wall crap and the money wasted on all these Mar A Lago golfing retreats and the money being wasted investigating crazy conspiracy theories about Hillary and Ukraine...as the same folks chasing all these conspiracy theories bitch that the Dems are wasting money investigating things like Russia's interference in our elections.  investigating this iitoo using his position for personal gain and favors and to force other nations to do his bidding.  you know, actual illegal and unethical behavior.
the rest are the last of July!!
the drive back from Homer and the various sights seen along the way.
 these are at Deep Creek

this trek i think there were more gulls and less baldies, still a fun day out there
the dogs always love it at the beach.  they are fans.
Ivy is in a pretty deep sleep at the moment.  love to watch my dogs sleeping so peacefully.
they have a pretty good life.
today they even got some leftover rib meat on top of their dinner
boats landing as i was walking.
dead fish all over from the charter fisherman's leavings.
i think these are sandhill cranes flying over us
and back to the fire weed.
the fires of the summer as seen from the road.
 still smoking.
it was so sad to see the damage.  love all our trees and our earth needs trees.
then you pass out of it and the blue skies resume.
fire week on the way back towards Anchorage.
it's just crazy how it's everywhere.

 another train sighting.
love to chase the trains back to Anchorage.
I've never taken the train down to Seward, just to Spencer Glacier.
i better head to bed.  Ivy is dreaming and twitching...so cute.
thankful for: A.  coming through last years quake as well as i did B.  time with friends C. happy puppies
