now to play!!

no big plans yet i guess.  thoughts of plans though.  do want to do a halibut run and perhaps get out to bear glacier.  those would be fun little treks.
today i headed to Arctic Valley again..this time with better weather and a friend.
the dogs had fun with their buddy George.  they ran from snow patch to snow patch.  they would be fine if it was winter all year.
the three dogs enjoying a snow patch.
my knee held up fairly well...mostly i feel like i am out of shape and i need to just suck it up and hit the trails and enjoy some of this Alaska beauty.
Ivy does great out there, but when she gets home i'm noticing some limping.  hips. i had noted it when she was young that she may end up with some hip issues. poor girl.  will have to get her started on some glucosamine no doubt.
Covid Kitty has been enjoying the improved weather. he's not a huge fan of the rain i can tell. he is enjoying his little bed in the dog run though.  he's out in the yard more than the dogs. he is again missing the collar. so far i haven't noted him leaving the yard or attempting to leave the yard.  could be under the deck.
i think he's on a growth spurt.  acts hungry...so i have given him a bit extra food.
the motley crew at the crest. this is as far as we went...great views up there.  not too many flowers out yet, but they are coming out.  it's starting to green up.
debating a few nights in Seward...or Valdez.  may just see what options i have for where to stay with the pups.
these two are doing well. this morning i saw Miss Breezy was downstairs at back door watching the morning activity. she does seem to be getting a bit braver...hoping she gets to feeling more welcome in the rest of the house.
views looking back as we headed back down.
this stretch i worked all the nights.  CICU, then ICU then ER Door.
CICU is not my favorite.  never enjoy the post cath groin checks. haha.
Covid cases in Alaska bumped up a bit. not horrible yet but always a bit of a gut punch.  there are some positive cases in the hospital.  we've had a few deaths from the PTCC outbreak.  i think those become compassionate care cases which seems like it was probably the most kind thing.
cases were up to 20 +/- each day.  we seem to be moving back into the teens...so this is the memorial day bump i think.  there are increases in cases in many states in the lower 48.  many are still thinking it's fake news/fear tactics, a hoax...various conspiracy theories.  it's just baffling to me that anyone could believe that there are so many secret things happening all at once in every aspect of our lives.
the mask battle is ridiculous...so many bizarre excuses.
the world is crazy out there.  i'm happy to be living in Alaska where it seems a bit less insane...though there are a ton of crazy trumper types who are clearly keyboard warriors. it's always bad to read comments as you just get a warped view i fear of how crazy all the other people are out there that you share a community with.
enjoyed some walks in the rain..now the sun has returned.
 check out those views.
Tusker is so cute.  has selected the next toy that gets it!!
great to see my friend SG...haven't seen her for some time.  this is a good time for us to walk...on fridays after i wake up every other week so hopefully, we do a few more this summer.
there is my cute Covi Kitten!!
the orange signs are for skiers in the winter months as this is a ski area...they just warn to not go down that side of the mountain.
Ivy enjoys a patch of snow.
it was a great day to be up here.
the dogs still haven't figured out what all the noise is out there...ground hogs or whatever they are called. when they actually see one i sense our walk in this area could change.
the garden is perking up a bit.  the lawn is still a bit scattered. generally by the time the lawn grows in its time for fall. i did mow the other day..at least until i ran out of gas  now i have to get the tank refilled.
trump is planning for his beloved rallies to start.  of course, he will not require masks or spacing but is making his cult followers sign a waiver that makes him and his re-election campaign not liable if the all get covid and die.  nice.
if it's a hoax why would he need a disclaimer at all really, right?
had a bit of a row the other day with a sibling. i think we are in truce mode again.  we fought all the time growing up...maybe things just don't change as much as you hope because you get older.
may get more tourists but the numbers will still be low.  they are requesting covid testing or quarantine...of course, i'm not really sure how much follow up will be done or if this will be mandated in any real way.
we had some drama last night at the door...what else is new.  they have put a security person there again, which i do think is a good idea.
one guy came running in carrying someone, we all rushed thinking this person was dying...only to discover it was really just a minor injury.  i think we all rolled our eyes and turned around at the same time.  always so odd.  i mean some people walk in all calm and say quietly, "i think i may be having a heart attack" then you have others with major drama over a minor thing.
everyone has majorly different coping skills.
overall i'd say our society has a fairly low tolerance for change, stress and pain. adaptation is not our strong suit...but humans no matter how hard they fight it do have the ability to change.  most do eventually adapt.  we have a large segment who are hanging onto a past that was only good for some because they were the ones it was good for and they don't want to see how hard it was for others making their lives so good. they feel guilt but don't want to accept guilt.
we can't change the past but we can be more open about what really happened and be willing to hope for a future to be better for all and not just for a few. we can change how the past is presented to the future though.  some old civil war statues were torn down.  getting rid of confederate symbols  should have been done ages ago.
the wild iris. always so beautiful.
thought this one turned out pretty cute of us.  :-)
my shoes the other day...covered in dandelion...
a stop at Cheney Lake...this nest is full of eggs.  some baby ducklings spotted.  i still have some photos to go through. will crash soon though.
sun/mon are good days to venture out as the weekenders will have returned home

 tusker on the ski hill
they were working on the road up there today, which is good, it's a rough road.
love these faces.  such sweet pups!!
i think i will sleep well tonight.  a good walk does that for you.
Ivy in the dog park, on the side trails...in the rain of course.
well, just a quick entry and i am off to bed.
as far as saints and sinners, i know i am the sinner and always will be.  i can live with that.
thankful for: A. walking partners.  :-)  B. my furs C. sunshine and rain.
