so Trump is miraculously healed from Covid and now he's an expert on it. now the GOP line is wearing masks is the wimpy, chicken way to go.
trump took off his mask for a photo op upon returning to the white house and then headed inside maskless to potentially infect all the workers inside.
the arrogance and selfishness is astounding at this point...
thought i'd throw in a quick blog. not sure i have all that much to say really. the lunacy is beyond words at this point
his surrogates are on the news altering all the words he says in an attempt to make them sound less cruel and insensitive. he doesn't seem capable of acknowledging the lives of all those lost and instead offends the families of those lost by continuing to downplay Covid. like if you put your mind to it you can and will beat it...like all those who have died just didn't try hard enough.
he's saying now that there will be no further negotiations for relief packages until after he "wins" the Presidency. this is a man who doesn't give one crap about the suffering of others and he is the head of the nation. yet, his followers continue to fawn after him despite him doing everything in his power to make their lives more miserable. it's nuts really. they are voting against their own interests and cheering him while doing it.
he appeared on that balcony looking winded....is it from covid or is it just that he is so out of shape at baseline that he can't go up a flight of stairs without being winded. the physician who briefs us is military so trump is technically his boss. he says and does what he is told. we may never know the truth of any of this.
trump says he will be there for the next debate...it's a town hall. how safe will it be? will he be still shedding the virus...if he indeed had it? increased distance has been mandated and i think plexiglass...though these requests from Biden/Harris are being met by the right as proof they are scared.
it's a virus, fools...a pandemic. precautions are prudent not a sign of fear. so he and so many on the right continue to downplay the virus and thus any precautions.
our numbers are up in this state. the valley folks have not had high outbreak yet, so they are seeing that as proof that masks and distancing and the mandates are pointless.
these are pictures again from Arctic Valley, Independence mine and i think a few from the Matanuska Glacier day
i will get off this computer soon and head out somewhere. i'm thinking finally heading towards Hope or even Whittier depending on how weather looks. stop for little walks along the way.
yesterday, i again slept in til late. today was late as well, but not as late.
admittedly, i still have felt a little punky off and on. coughing a bit more, tis the season. no fevers...my temperature continues low. my sense of smell and taste remain intact.
exhaustion is partly due to the increased stress of working with this virus day in and day out.
used to enjoy my work much more. these days it's just more stressful and less satisfying. i think many will leave the field. some already are.
don't be afraid, don't let this dominate your lives....easier said from the confines of the white house and a life of privilege. he's never known anything but privilege.
like his buddy Chris Christie when they get sick they get the best medical care immediately, the most up to date treatments. everyone else, myself included, would need to wait until we were in the middle of the illness.
hell as healthcare workers they don't want to hear of us being ill really until we have a fever. we get exposed, we get notified of exposure and the bottom line is keep working unless you have a fever. i think the fever needs to be over 100F at least.
he has zero understanding of those he claims to serve, but they hear what they want to hear and are blinded to the reality that he really could care less about them.
Eddie Van Halen has died, cancer.
his kids are as annoying as he is. Eric Trump just spoke on a North Dakota radio show and stated that his Dad saved Christianity. news flash. Christianity is not at risk. the risks to Christianity are of their own making at this point. these evangelicals are taking the heart and soul out of the true Christians. they have brought in hatred and anger and fear. these things muddy the message of Jesus, who taught love and patience and understanding.
the evangelicals are turning more away from Christianity. so called Christians are destroying Christianity. Priests that abuse children. preachers that take money from the poor for their own aggrandizement. televangelists who get caught in compromising sex scandals.
this has happened over and over again and in the stories i read in the Bible, God always comes down on those who pretend to push Christian values while actually demeaning the message hard.
yesterday i did get out for a nice walk. Monday walks are a bit delayed. i feel covered in covid. others have exposures or possible exposures so in the end...i walked with just the dogs. we did the big loop
not many leaves left on the trees. a few more mushrooms cropping up since the leaves that are down are drying up and showing the mushrooms again
after i debated a drive further down Turnigan Arm. it looked a bit cloudy/wet and there were a few swans at Potters and it wasn't windy so i ended up stopping there.
there was an adult and three young swans. makes me sad wondering where the swan partner is..they tend to mate for life....the mate must have died. swans don't divorce.
there were a few other swans a bit aways....suddenly the adult took off leaving the three young swans behind. it went after those other swans and chased them way out across the arm before returning to the young swans to continue feeding. those swans are no doubt in Homer by now. who knew swans were so territorial.
then i headed over to the boardwalk as there was a pair there. the light for me wasn't that good but it sounds like KR got luckier. happy she got out and can't wait to see her photo's. she has come a long ways in mastering her camera. i've always been too lazy. i have a good eye, but am too lazy to take the time to tweek around with all the settings.
after that i headed out to Woronzof to see if i could get lucky and spot some moose. saw a few females. no males though.
surrounded by sleeping critters when i woke up one day.
lastly, i headed over to Lake Hood to see the last bits of the sunset. i missed the actual sunset watching moose.
these sunset shots are from Reflections Lake a few weeks back.
as we have less and less light we also get more opportunities to enjoy the sunsets/sunrise. we are not always awake at 1-3 am for them in the summer months.
that fluffy tail....makes me happy
there are some blue skies out there again.
i think tomorrow is looking possibly like rain. Ivy Rose goes in to get her knee checked out. she does fine on the trails but limps once we get home.
she's pretty tough girl. she's chilling in the office with me now. waiting for the moment i show signs of heading out on the trails. they are very patient to the changes in schedule.
i suspect Covid Cat has headed outside to enjoy the sun
i have my bathroom measurements so perhaps i can work on getting tiles today. then it will be time to start tearing up the floor downstairs...i'm really just avoiding the main room floor and the stairs....those really need to be done as well. so much more of a pain though.
the downstairs bath will be a bother as well though because of the washer and dryer. the toilet will have to come out as well, so plan will be to replace that as well.
wish my handyman was available.
man i love these Independence Mine shots...they will be in the calendar for sure. thinking the critters will dominate the cover this year.
i have three nights then a week of vacation...staycation at this point. hopefully, i'll head down to Homer, perhaps some place else. there are less options at this point. doing nothing is something i'm really good at...well nothing really means walking the dogs and exploring locally.
maybe ripping out flooring too.
the shoes are another focal point for my photo's. my trademark shots. haha. i tend to be looking down and at the little things in life that bring beauty to our world. often overlooked as we reach for grander, more majestic views. there is beauty all around as a church hymn used to extoll us.
i always liked the singing and the hymns. there was much else about church and religion that i did not like.
thankful for A. the beauty that is at our feet B. a hearty purr of a cat C. fresh water, a warm bed and a deep sleep
