wanted a change of scenery. we walked around Little Campbell Lake. the gate is still closed but we took side trails.
here are a few bad ones of a little muskrat? at U-Lake last week.
the only wildlife i saw today was a little wild rabbit. thankfully, the dogs didn't see it. well, there were loads of birds as well, mostly robins.
nice to see all the fresh green. really coming in.
i had a few incidents of post tussive vomiting. yes, still doing that. usually that has settled down by now. still happens at least once daily...today more. hopefully, today was the wild before the calm and this will be better tomorrow.
i head back to work tomorrow. still a wee bit tired and my gut is clearly not back to normal. i get one main meal in every day it seems and then snacks.
don't think i sound great, but usually the worst i sound the better i feel. my voice is shot so i must be all coughed out. no fevers, sputum clear...I'll just be tired when i get home in the mornings. tend to cough more at work because it's so dry and the more i speak the more i tend to cough.
hopefully, i can avoid the whole cough til i puke thing at work....though I've done it before. puke happens.
nobody else at the lake so the pups got some nice swim time in. that and a 4 mile walk. a wee bit short of breath on the hills but i took them slow. the best way to get better is to try and work through it to some extent. i can cough and puke at home just as easily as i can on the trails.
a woman was rescued from the mud in Turnigan Arm with the tide rising....she'd gotten stuck. it's hooligan season so she was out fishing for hooligan. she will live to fish again.
the paper was also reminding locals that it's that time of year, the baby moose will be getting born all over town. i saw no moose today. was watchful as i didn't want to surprise a new mama moose with calves. it is a risky time of year. those babies are super cute though.
iitoo moved the Israeli embassy to Jerusalem. more symbolic. there has been increased protests in the Gaza Strip, over 50 were killed today as the ceremony to open the new embassy was happening. don't know enough about the mess over there. i know much of the mess is related to interventions by the west. there is some strange connections....
the investigation continues. for Mueller it's a search for truth and facts, for iitoo and his crew it's a battle of PR and politics. he is right though, his cult followers would forgive him anything..he could quite literally murder someone in cold blood on TV and his handlers would make excuses as to why he had to do it and how it's somehow the fault of others. the victim would be held accountable no doubt as well as Obama and Hillary, who are apparently at fault for every bad thing that has happened since the beginning of time. the evangelicals would forgive him because they forgive him of all. strange how this same forgiveness is not granted for others....they only get the hate of these folks....and man do the evangelicals have a lot of hate.
Mueller is finding stuff i have no doubt. i don't think iitoo will be held accountable for any of it, though i suspect there will be enough dubious ties in his business dealings that he may well be asked to step down at some point. i doubt his lackey's did all without his knowledge, especially his son and son in law, but I'm sure he's learned well to stay "clean". i highly doubt he'd take the fall to protect his kids, i suspect in his case he'd watch them go down to protect himself.
Manafort, Flynn, Cohen...these guys are all in trouble. Roger Stone will not come out well either.
Sean Hannity is said to be a member of the other cabinet...iitoo speaks to him nearly daily, more than a few times some days. he yields a great deal of power for a supposed "news" person. it's pretty nuts. he's got a few in the congress that are going to extreme measures in an attempt to force the investigative team to release some thing, anything to them so they can curry favor with their beloved cult leader. Mueller and team don't show any interest in doing the media mess and they just keep working on the facts.
always love the fresh bright green leaves in spring. everything is so fresh and new.
rain this afternoon. my yard will be mud.
did make a few phone calls, paid bills and did some laundry..also made it to the pet store finally.
yesterday i walked with KR out at the airstrip again. again i was tired post the walk. i had figured I'd do some driving and see what was out there to see...i drove out to Pt Woronzof but i really just felt super sleepy...at one point i thought i may need to just pull over and take a short nap. when i got home my thinking was I'd nap for like a half hour and then try to run a few errands...2-3 hours later it was too late to do any errands.
back deck looks all nice in the rain all freshly painted. i need to do the front deck as well.
my neighbor wanted to have her friend who's a handyman do the work on the fence. it's about the same price anyway. will just have to use caution with the dogs during that time. would be upset if they got loose.
GOP had a stellar week as far as families go. they vowed to arrest illegals and take their kids away from them. they also are looking at cutting even more from spending, a great deal of that money that goes towards childrens health. take from the poor, give to the rich...ah yes, Jesus would be proud.
there seems to be an effort to prove this administration to be deplorables...the iitoo is no fan of Senator McCain. i read years ago about the pow's in Vietnam and what they dealt with. you can blast McCain for his politics if you want but it's best to leave his service to our nation alone. an aide made some deplorable comments which were leaked out. instead of just making a public apology they are seemingly only concerned that the information leaked. it is possible to apologize and be upset about their leak issues. they have no body to blame but themselves. of course, iitoo himself has been known to create news by calling using fake names and being interviewed about himself under those fake names...he's no doubt a large part of their leak issue.
half way around the lake and below you can see the rabbit
the Mormons are ending their relationship with the boy scouts...now the scouts. kind of surprised it lasted as long as it did really. they created a program for girls years ago.
tree down. we never saw anyone else on the trail today. it was nice.
the rest are some snap shots i got from the walrus cam today. they did some nice close ups. always fun.
great to see the big boys back out there on the island.
a few tons of fun!
I'm catching up on my paper reading. nice to be feeling more normal.
i should probably head to bed soon. haven't stayed up this late since before this bug hit me. this must be a good sign.
look how cute and snuggly this guy looks.
he better hope his buddy doesn't fart!
nice long tusks
may have posted this last one. this was actually taken by another explore.org viewer. it was one of the first days the camera went live this year...perhaps the first day. a sea lion pulled up on the walrus beach...this is a full bull sea lion, just gives you a bit of size difference.
thankful for: A. the ending of this horrid bug B. the hope of a better day tomorrow. hope i can stay awake for my shift. C. rain, needed and appreciated.
