yesterday was a pretty lazy day. i mean i got stuff done around the house, got the dogs walked. just was tired from all the driving i think. it's totally worth it though. chilled at home a lot. enjoyed the sunshine in the yard.
i think Covi Kitty is out more than in. at this point i feel fairly secure with him in the yard. i do shut the run gate when i leave for work or head to bed. that may change when i see him leap out one day. so far he's been happy chasing bugs in the yard and enjoying the sunshine.
supposed to rain tomorrow but the rest looks like sun globes for weeks at this point. what a beautiful spring we are having. i have some sprouts coming up that i planted before i took off to Homer. i also have some grass seed sprouting in the yard. need to add more to other areas....see if i can get a decent lawn for the summer.
i tend to do what gardening i am going to do in May, then i just mow and try to keep control of it until the fall comes.
for sure had some short naps yesterday between getting stuff done. i didn't get a blog written though. not that anyone is desperately waiting for my blogs to be written. haha. it's good mentally for me to write. if i don't feel like it, i just usually don't bother.
Ivy gets more photos taken. easier, she's usually right by me with the toy
Tusker was chasing bald eagles again. i feared he would piss off someone and i'd end up with a fine. my friend pointed out that lady fed the eagles for decades and didn't get in trouble. not many tourists right now. i can't believe an eagle hasn't turned around and given him a bit of the business...thankful though. those eagles can do some major damage even to a nearly 80 pound dog. the eagles were eating a seagull when Tusker kept chasing them off.
three of the 4 critters is in here with me. loyal critters. the kitten is either outside or under the bed in siesta mode. he does take mid morning naps. it's exhausting being a kitten. the star above appears to have partied too hard the night before. looks wiped out.
love to try and get photos of the stars on the move.
this guy below, on the other hand, looks energized and ready to take on the world.
this crew are perky as well.
a few fishing out there but on this trek usually just one at a time.
liked this one below of the sea stars on the beach. looks like there was a beautiful sunrise Tuesday morning in Homer. of course, that was at 5:45. i totally missed that. no way i was going to be up that early. bummer as it really was pretty. oh well. photo ops lost. my friend lives at the end of the spit so she was up early and saw it. enjoyed her photo's.
less knots today. had a bit of a headache yesterday which didn't help. neck/shoulder knots for sure were the cause. post drive stuff. still have knots. not ready to set up a massage yet. i suspect i will not feel up to that sort of thing until after we see how the summer and fall go.
the misinformation out there is building along with the crazy conspiracy theories. people buy into crap they see on YouTube over any facts or reason. seems nuts to me that folks could buy into conspiracy theory after conspiracy theory. i mean it's just not possible for so many of these whacko things to be happening all at the same time. rational went out the door ages ago though i fear.
as i said years ago now....this is what happens to a nation when the guy running it is a conspiracy theory chaser. he has no trust in the government he runs or anyone in it so instead he panders to lunatics who through out crazy theory after theory. i don't even know how they keep up with the craziness at this point.
this is the larger dog room. it was great to have space to move around. i did miss it not being on the bay side though....hmm...it probably costs more too. i love a cheap room in Homer. i was upgraded. i guess this room usually is taken pretty quickly.
now i have 4 critters in here with me.
the Covi kitten is getting bigger. he's got super long legs and big paws. he also has leaf pods stuck all over him from the trees. soon the place will green up. every day is different out there now. it's crazy.
he's on my lap now, purring away. he's a very good purr kitten.
another positive sea star.
have enjoyed texting with one niece and talking to another these past few days. always fun.
they opened up fishing in Cordova. we have a positive case yesterday from someone who flew in to work. we shall see how this all goes. they are opening up all. the Governor did good listening to science early on but i fear he will be more swayed by the conspiracy theory crowd now, as they have gotten more vocal.
i suspect much will come back to bite them if these cases ramp back up. their followers are angry, locked and loaded. there may be some angry retribution when some of these conspiracy theory fools lose family and maybe wake up to the fact that they were misled. one can hope i guess that their anger is finally directed at those who deserve it due to the lies and misinformation campaign that has been rained down on these poor, gullible folks.
sea stars with the coast guard ship.
in the news this morning a valet for trump tested positive. the guy never wears a mask and serves trump his meals. i guess trump was pissed and now anyone around him (i'm sure just those who are of lower class) will be made to mask up. ironic since he never wears a mask and refuses to. they put out a statement that trump and pence have tested negative. this guy just tested positive yesterday though so they could have an uncomfortable 10-14 days. no doubt they will waste limited tests testing him and his band of fools daily. one can hope that karma rains down and he gets sick but i am not confident we can be that lucky.
it is good that he can stew a bit worrying that he could get sick..despite his line that this is not a big deal.
the tennis ball became well acquainted with several sea stars. the dogs mostly do not notice the stars.
this star appears to be leaping over these rocks.
at least the dogs do seem to naturally avoid stomping on the stars. so kind.
there are a few out there camping on the spit. not many...it's still chilly at night. i'll take the hotel room still.
there were a few of these huge brown stars. look like they eat well.
a pair of dancing stars!! they elude joy!
how can you not be happy around all these stars!
another power pose! when i went later in the summer there weren't any stars to be found here. i guess they migrate. am looking it up now. for sure in the winter they find safer places from bigger waves in deeper waters. also in the summer the gulls will feed on stars so my guess is they again retreat to avoid that. i did see some gulls last spring feeding on a star and fighting over it.
they can travel up to a mile in a week. they also can drift with the sea, floating. mostly they use their "tube feet" to move.
i haven't seen the big sunflower sea stars along with these guys. i thought stars always come with legs in the 5's but what i'm reading about these stars is that they can have 16-24 limbs. they can get up to 3.3 feet diameter with limbs. we do have them in Alaska. they are fun to see. very cool. there are many cool sea stars out there though.
i missed the morning sunset but my morning was not too terrible out there at Bishops Beach.
omg lance mackey tested positive for meth this Iditarod...that is not good. marijuana fine, but meth. so sad to hear he's addicted to this crap.
sounds like doj is busy using the time they have left to let it's buddies off the hook. flynn charges dropped today. their days may be numbered, look for some crazy pardons ahead.
speaking of stars on the move. you can see his drag marks.
i'm getting hungry...lunch, walk dogs, nap and then back to work. my stretch starts again.
a pair of sandhill cranes was cruising by the hotel. so cute.
a star with a view
not sunrise but still pretty. it was a rainy day off and on.
Ivy awaits another toss of the tennis ball. it brings her joy.
a crowd of sea stars at the base of a piling.
this star is is moving to get a better view i guess. have a good day.
thankful for 1. blue skies 2.signs of spring 3. happy critters 4. family who i can relate to. it helps a lot
