fall hikes and rambles..

hoping to get out for a walk.  admittedly my gut seems to have other idea's.  is this an extension of what I've been feeling this week?  who knows. i have called out sick last two nights.  just have had a fuzzy head and tired mostly. i get up, do something and then i need to nap.  hoping today is  a better day.  these are from hikes in the fall.
 always love the fall.
my neighbor and i propped the fence up.  i need to make some phone calls and set up appointments to get bids on replacing it.  probably the best way to go.
my newspaper arrived un-bloodied.  that wasn't the case for everyone i guess.  apparently a delivery person was attacked and stabbed, but kept delivering papers.  I'm guessing they had a concussion that made them a bit out of sorts.  calls came in and the blood was followed until they figured it out and found the poor delivery person and got them assistance.
crazy news continues....it never ends, we never seem to get a break unless we just hide out.  the iitoo went on a rant yesterday at the fox morning show that he's so fond of.  the hosts of that show looked dumbfounded and had little ability to stop his incessant banter.  they hardly got a word in.  he did not do himself any favors and things he said ended up in the court case of his lawyer within hours.
the Kor/N and S sat down together and will start the process apparently of bringing an end to their war of generations.  some are crediting iitoo...that guy can only take credit for perhaps making them believe that our nation is currently unstable and it's best to take steps to stabilize their nations before our nut job starts dropping bombs.  our state department is gutted.  not sure what was discussed in NK when the now S of S went for a little visit. if he helped great.  i suspect it was more China and S.Korea that got this going.  better to have things more settled before iitoo makes his way there.
maybe the current dictator of n.k. is not as nuts as his predecessors.
everyone has quickly figured out the only way to deal with our current dictator in training is to flatter the hell out of him..keep him from doing harm. the French President did a fine job on his visit here...clearly he is trying to convince out iitoo to stay in the Iran deal and work towards protecting the earth from further damage related to climate change. climate change is not a religion, it's not a hoax, it just is what it is.  scientific fact.  we are currently the only nation not on board.
this administration has not heard of vetting and therefore the cabinet is mostly filled with people who have no business being in positions they are in.  the EPA is being destroyed or turned into an oil company protection agency.  perhaps when people have to start wearing masks because the air has gotten so bad again and are having difficulty finding clean water to drink they will see the error of their ways and come around to protecting the environment.  it's pretty disgusting really...putting corporate greed over the environment and the health of the citizens and ecosystems.
Pruitt is one hell of a crooks...best people my arse.  he seems to often find the worst people. he could have saved this Dr a great deal of stress if he had properly vetted him.  instead he just did his usual...oh you flatter me, let me give you a super high and important position that you are clearly not qualified for.
a nut job with neo nazi connections pepper sprayed a group of activists.  these neo nazi's generally are big fans of our current iitoo, which really should make people wonder what is really going on with that.  why are they so welcome and open under this iitoo?  why has the GOP embraced them...clearly for votes only.  they are some pretty despicable people.  when choosing sides you really should look at the other folks that are attracted to the same side as you.
some other incidents of the week.  a waffle house shooting.  another AR-15.  thankfully, a brave young man was able to take that guy out with his bare hands...another crazy person drove into a crowd in Canada...killing several.
our nation continues to have some pretty major and dire issues under this lack of leadership.  anytime you rule with hate and anger you put our nation at risk.  he works only for his base. he makes zero attempt to bring in even moderate thinkers in the US.
if people can hear that crazy rant from yesterday and still believe his is a rational leader i really just don't know what to say.  you have drank the koolaid as it were.  no idea how faux news tilted that craziness yesterday on their shows or did they just pretend it didn't happen...this is often their tactic. i did hear they had taken the "interview" down from their page.  any other news station would have just let him motor mouth on...he's lucky they cut him off at 30 minutes of ranting.  what a nut job...and he is in this position of such power.
ice road truckers are believers in climate change...they have watched it.  they know what is coming.  they see the impacts.  anyone who lives in a northern climate is pretty much convinced that with or without science the proof is there.  something is happening and the arctic is impacted.  you just want to scream wake up to those who have buried their heads in the sand and are believing the propagandists who tell them this is bull and some liberal plot.
it occurred to me as i watched iitoo fawn over Macron that perhaps he is actually a deeply closeted gay guy.  perhaps he put up this front with all these women in order to do all he could to make it appear he couldn't possibly be gay.  often those who are gay, but afraid to just live that life, will direct the most anger at those who do live the life.  would explain a lot of his deep seeded anger and hatred.
these are various hikes. i think this is arctic valley in some and powerline pass perhaps.

these are powerline pass for sure. I'm moving slowly.  need to get out and walk these pups.

just want to make sure my gut is not going to cause me any issues.  some days your body just goes haywire.  i feel like my body on occasion just forces me to take a break.
reading more about this waffle house guy.  he'd gotten his guns taken away after he attempted to get in to visit with the iitoo, clearly an admirer of his.  go team trump.  his father had given him back his weapons as the way it was handled was that his guns were taken from him and given to his father.  great plan.  worked really well.  there was an opinion piece..the usual, don't blame the NRA or gun laws...oh how they protect their gun rights.
they don't seem to get that yes, there are responsible gun owners but there are also a hell of a lot of irresponsible gun owners and when the cross over you can't just say oh, but they are criminals and they shouldn't have guns.  they also don't take into account that even responsible gun owners sell their guns.  those guns then get sold.  you can't claim to be responsible if you have no idea what really becomes of any and all guns that you are responsible for.  i know that sounds harsh, but if you sell off a bunch of your guns at a gun show and then those end up getting shifted to criminals...well you  do have some responsibility.  I'm not saying you should be locked up but our nation has so many illegal guns because we have so many legal guns that become illegal.  we do not import guns.
the criminals that don't get their guns legally get them from people who have irresponsibly sold their guns to people who then irresponsibly sell those guns...

my pups.  they sure are sweet.  they are waiting patiently for their walk.  i think we will just try for the dog park again.  it's easy.
hoping to work tonight.  it's just 12 hours, then I'm off for a few again.
 this trail is south biv
summers and falls i tend to go with others as the bears are thicker in this area...and they are often the big browns.
it runs past the ski area...

I've rambled i know. the news is nuts right now though.
i finished reading Trevor Noah's book.  he left out how he went from the life he was living to becoming a comedian.  it is interesting to read about different people's lives.  he grew up as apartheid was ending.  so interesting take on races and racism.
we could all stand to try and understand each other a bit more.
a woman in Japan passed away at the age of 117! that is up there.  the next oldest is 116 so not too young either...she is also in Japan.  the one before that was in Jamaica and died at age 116.
this is headed back up to powerline pass. i tend to head there fairly frequently as it's pretty and the moose collect there in the fall.
 liked these late season daisies.

know this trail well, as do these little pups.
they look younger in these.  :-)  we have an appointment to play at the pool...means bath time.  may have to make some new scarves for after bath photo's!

starting to see some things start to grow in.  things will move amazingly fast in the growth soon. every week here is different.  never dull.

look at that patchwork of beautiful colors.
of course, the dogs are pretty immune to it all. they just want to play with the tennis ball.
i better get working towards a walk before the day is over.

i may complain but i do hope the future comes around.  that our nation finds our way back.  this is hopefully just a bad blip in our nation.  they can't all be great leaders who give inspiring speeches...some over the decades have no doubt been totally flops with zero speaking abilities.  they get lost in history.  we hear nothing of them really.  one day, this iitoo will also be forgotten, just a name on a list.
grateful for: A.  rest B.  recovery C. calmer weather
