trying to take advantage of the sunshine

i appear to have a disease!!  really just a messy painter.  my fence and my decks are in bad need of a good paint/stain job so i got to it.  of course, this first stain i spent some time applying was actually stain for indoor, like furniture so i hit the store again and got a gallon of paint and started in.  i really did not believe i would be out there that long tonight.  got a lot done.  still more to do.  perhaps tomorrow night is the weather still holds.  then perhaps the front deck and the wood around the garage door.  those will for sure need sanding first though
may put some sort of simple design into the fence.  i like to art stuff up when i can.
we finished up our Monday walks for the season.  will restart again in the fall.  that will be year 10 i believe. we had a lovely walk today.  it was so beautiful out there.
we did the big loop.  a few deep puddles but we all stayed dry and the dogs all had a great time running around and rolling in the snow.
today i braved both dogs in the big Home Depot/Lowes stores.  yesterday and most times i just take one in at a time.  it's good training.  need to do laundry and house clean in the morning.  it's a good time though to clear stuff up in the yard.
Tusker above with his favorite stuffie, Lambie and the other one is Ivy Rose's favorite stuffie.
yesterday we did a loop in Kincaid and then took a connector trail from back to Jodphur trailhead via the coast route.  so i have managed to wear the dogs out both days.  as i was out painting they apparently needed to be out there with me, wrestling.  tonight i feared the can of paint would be knocked over.
when i got home this evening there was a pile of books on my porch. kids books.  there was room in the little free library for a few but the rest i put in a box of books awaiting a spot in the library.  i like to have a mix of books for all ages. two huge books of actual paper airplanes...looks cool, too big to  be inside the library.  no rain expected to i just leaned them against the library.  perhaps some kid will take them in the morning.
no idea where the books came from. thanks.
was helping my neighbor a bit as well. he's the neighborhood watch of the hood.  keeps an eye on all.  good to have him on my good side.  first he brought a booklet he'd obtained from some woman as he wanted my opinion about the treatment for his eyes it was encouraging.  i took it to work...we were entertained.
had to tell him i couldn't, in good conscience, recommend the treatments as i had no idea what is the diagnosis of his eyes that is concerning him and i had no idea what was in the capsule the lady was trying to sell him.  seemed i did convince him to hit a Dr at the VA.  wanted him to check out the headaches...figured it was blood pressure related...not helping that he smokes.  next day he brought over his blood pressure monitor so i took that and it was high so i did again remind him to see his DR and that he should probably consider stopping the smoking.
trimmed the tree out front while i chatted with him and worked on the spring clean up a bit out there.
as the snow melts back i have another section of yard to clean up a bit.
work this past week was ER, ER and then ICU. i think i kept pretty busy each night. enjoyed my co-workers as i mostly do.
I'm a wee bit sore, probably from the painting. doubt it helped that i fell asleep on the couch last night. it's pretty rare that i do that.  i woke up at like 4 am and made my way to my real bed.
ordered a few e-books.  had to order Comey's book...if only to piss off iitoo by helping it get to the best seller list, but it should be interesting as well.  also wanted to read Trevor Noah's book, "born a crime".  so strange the history in South Africa with Apartheid.
this current iitoo will be great for writers and no doubt eventually for movie makers when the crap flies.
thought these were cute of my furs.  such sweet faces.
they wore their bear bells for the first time for the season.  below was another season first.  so pretty.
Hannity, as it turns out, has used iitoo's lawyer, Cohen, yes the same one that got raided.  had just flipped on the news for the morning when it was announced.  gasps...what!!  cracked me up.  that guy is such a douche.
did get a chance to meet with a friend for dinner tonight. he was telling me about awful weather hitting Hawaii right now.  power outages, winds, lots of rain. sounds like a mess.  the Boston Marathon was supposedly also wet and windy.
 they were great posers yesterday.
we dropped bombs in Syria.  supposedly in reaction to a chemical attack on the Syrians by their cruel killer of a leader.  can't say that i am opposed to a reaction to a chemical attack, it was at least comforting that some allies joined in.  odd to say you are going to pull out your forces one week and then bomb the crap out of them the next.
sad that the thousand of deaths that have come before don't seem to matter, it's just when the chemical weapons are used that we show concern for this situation.  it's such a mess, i really have no idea.  I'm not a fan of bombings and war in general.
bombing the last time they used chemical weapons clearly didn't change anything.  so here we are again.  no plan.  can't just drop bombs randomly without really having any sort of plan.  part of that plan should have been to help the people, the refugees  though.
the dogs are taking turns snoring.  so cute.
birds seem to be returning to town.  have heard more variety of calls.  seen more ducks and heard gulls as well.
seems odd that the NRA would be taking large donations from Rus donors.  that organization has gotten so far off it's original intent and messaging.  power, money, greed are the down fall of many...I'm sure that is why i have never obtained power or money...to prevent myself from becoming greedy and corrupt...haha.  laziness may have played a factor as well.
the Humboldt hockey team loss still just feels heartbreaking.  saw a team photo and to realize just like that so many were gone.  it's just incredibly sad.

there was one moose on the trail as we left the parking lot and two in the area of the parking lot when we returned.  the moose numbers seem to always increase in town until after they deliver babies.  then it can get a bit crazy as bears wander around more in an attempt to get those babies for a first big meal out of semi-hibernation
 this was a young moose
may get kicked out by mom soon.
pretty girl, light colors on face.
 no wild animals spotted today.
spring does make me more energized and it also seems to make me desire some deep cleaning.
you can see a bit of mom behind this young moose.
I'll leave you with a moose peeing.  how often do you see that?  sure, you probably don't really want to see it..but there it is.
thankful for: a.  ability to work hard and walk far  b. moose sightings c. a good laugh at Hannity's expense today.
